In this video, I test whether a contactless car wash is truly enough to get your vehicle 100% clean. Many people rely on a touch-free wash using a snow foam pre-wash and a pressure rinse, believing it fully cleans the surface. While the car may look clean from a distance, I show through a real-world demo that a light layer of road grime often remains behind.
This leftover contamination can mask the performance of paint protection like ceramic coatings, causing reduced water beading and slower water sheeting. By following up with a proper contact wash using a bucket and wash mitt, or a rinseless wash method, that hidden layer of dirt is removed, and the coating’s hydrophobic properties are restored.
Snow foam pre-washes are an important first step in a safe wash process, but they are not a replacement for mechanical agitation if you want truly clean paint.
