Why would you need an ACIDIC car shampoo? In this episode of CLEAN Academy, I explain why acidic shampoos exist, what types of contamination they target, and when you should use one instead of your regular maintenance shampoo!
We take a deep dive into CLEAN Demineralizing Shampoo and explain how acidic chemistry helps dissolve inorganic mineral contamination such as hard-water deposits, calcium and magnesium buildup, limescale and mineral deposits associated with water spotting.
One of its most important uses is CERAMIC COATING MAINTENANCE. If your ceramic coating isn’t beading or sheeting water like it used to, that doesn’t necessarily mean it has failed. Mineral contamination can accumulate on top of the coating and mask its hydrophobic properties.
A demineralizing wash can help remove that buildup and restore the coating’s performance.

When necessary, use both as a powerful one-two punch: alkaline first for organic and oily grime, followed by acidic chemistry for mineral contamination.
We also discuss when to step up to CLEAN Water Spot Remover for stubborn mineral deposits and why severe water spots that have etched the surface may require polishing.
