Can you really tell the difference between a $20 car wax and a $2,000 one?
Today, I invited Yvan Lacroix from @diydetailofficial for the ultimate blind test. While I was out of the room, Yvan applied seven different waxes to identical sections of a hood—ranging from budget-friendly options to ultra-luxury carnauba waxes, including a secret prototype currently being developed for CLEAN By Pan.
The catch? I had no idea which wax was applied where.
Using only gloss, slickness, color depth, filling ability, and hydrophobic performance, I’ll try to identify the $2,000 wax from the affordable contenders.
Are car waxes still relevant in the ceramic coating era? Can a premium wax really justify its price?
